Set up in just a few minutes. With images & clear steps.
IMPORTANT: Please check whether email notifications are being delivered to your spam folder. If so, please mark the emails as “Not Spam”.

Setup in a few steps
01 Download the app
- Open the Apple App Store / Google Play
- Search for "ALPENLUFT Connect"
- Install & open the app
Note: Allow the app the permissions "Notifications" and "Location".
02 Create an account
- After launching, a login screen appears. If you don't have an account yet, register with your email address
- Accept software license & service agreement and privacy policy
- Request confirmation code (sent by email > check your spam folder)
- Set a password (8–16 characters, numbers / letters / special characters ! @ # $ % ^ & * )
- Log in with your credentials
Important: Grant Bluetooth permissions after login. Otherwise, device setup will not work. You can also grant permissions later in your device settings.
03 Add WiFi Gateway
- Create a new home
- Set name and location for home
- Add WiFi Gateway
- Select 2.4 GHz WiFi and enter password
- Check that Gateway LED is blinking green
- Gateway added: set name and location
- Gateway appears in the overview
- If desired: activate Do Not Disturb mode to stop LED from blinking (e.g. at night in the bedroom)
Attention! The gateway supports WPA2 Wi-Fi out of the box only.
After it connects to the server, a firmware update is installed automatically, which also enables WPA3 support.
Please set your Wi-Fi to WPA2 for the initial setup. Once the gateway appears in the app, you can switch your network back to WPA2/WPA3.

Important: 5 GHz WiFi is not supported.
Tip: If the Gateway LED does not blink green during pairing: press the network button for 10 seconds, or briefly disconnect the Gateway from power.
04 Add smoke detector
- Tap on Gateway in the overview
- Select "Add Sub-Device"
- Select the smoke detector: manually or by scanning the QR code on the back of the detector
- Turn on smoke detector: attach mounting plate or press test button and blue button simultaneously
- Activate pairing mode: press and hold test button 3 times
- Detector added: set name and location
- Detector appears in the overview
Note: Camera permission must be granted to scan the QR code.
05 Test smoke detector
- Select the detector to be tested in the overview
- Tap "Test"
- Confirm whether alarm sounds
- Test alarm appears in device log
Important: Perform test with hearing protection. The alarm signal can damage your hearing.
06 Share devices with other users
- Switch to profile in the bottom right of the overview
- In profile, click "Share" in the top right
- Select devices to share
- Enter the recipient's ALPENLUFT account
- Alternatively, if the recipient is present, create a QR code to scan
- Once the detectors have been successfully added in the recipient's app, they can access the shared devices
- After the recipient accepts the share, you will see confirmation in your notifications
Note: Camera permission must be granted to scan the QR code.
Note: If the recipient removes the shared devices from their app, they will lose access to your devices. You will still have access to your devices in your account. You can re-grant access at any time.
07 Receive shared devices
- Accept & confirm the other user's share under "Notifications"
- Under "Shared" you now have access to the other user's devices
Note: If you remove the shared devices from your app, only you will lose access to the other user's devices. They still have access to their own devices in their account. They can re-grant access at any time.
08 Room management / Overview
- In the overview you can manage your rooms and change the device display
- In room management you can add & delete rooms, adjust properties, and remove & add devices to rooms
- You can switch between list view and grid view for your devices
09 Delete devices
- Tap "Settings" in the device
- Tap "Remove device" in settings
- Confirm deletion
- The device no longer appears in the overview
Note: If a WiFi Gateway is deleted, all smoke detectors connected through it will also be removed.
10 Notifications
- Tap the bell icon in the top right of the overview
- Device logs: alarms, tests, tamper warnings
- Notifications: sent & received device shares
11 Profile / Account settings
- In the profile you have various options to configure your account
- Change email address, username, password & profile picture
- Log out of app and delete account
- Update firmware
- Retrieve messages
- Set language & time zone
- Enable push notifications
- Send feedback about app and devices
Important: Only delete your account if you are absolutely certain. Your data and devices cannot be restored.
Important: Do not disable app notifications, sounds and vibration alert! Otherwise you will not receive warnings in case of an alarm.

App cannot find the detector
- Is Bluetooth active?
- Distance under 3 metres?
- 2.4 GHz WiFi active?
- Location permission granted? (required for Bluetooth scan)
- iPhone: Settings → ALPENLUFT Connect → Enable location
- Android: Settings → Apps → ALPENLUFT Connect → Permissions → Enable location
No push notification
- Power saving mode off?
- App allowed to run in background?
- Notifications allowed?

Device "offline"
- Restart router
- Has WiFi password changed?
- Reconnect device
Gateway won't connect
- LED blinking green?
- Hold network button for 10 seconds
- Briefly disconnect Gateway from power
5 GHz WiFi – Gateway won't connect
- Only 2.4 GHz is supported
- Enable a separate 2.4 GHz network in your router
Smoke detector won't pair
- Smoke detector switched on (attach mounting plate or press test button and blue button simultaneously)?
- Pairing mode active? (press and hold test button 3 times)
Bluetooth permission missing
- iPhone: Settings → ALPENLUFT Connect → Enable Bluetooth
- Android: Settings → Apps → ALPENLUFT Connect → Permissions → Enable Bluetooth
Shared devices not visible
- Share accepted under "Notifications"?
- Switch to "Shared" at the top of the overview
No test alarm in the app
- Push notifications enabled?
- Check app notifications in settings
